Elections for the CMLA Board of Directors will be held during the CMLA’s Annual General Meeting on June 24, 2014.  The CMLA is looking for Muslim lawyers to help chart its course for the next few years.

If you care about the Muslim legal community in Canada and would like to help nurture its growth, we urge you to considering nominating yourself or someone else for membership in the CMLA’s Board of Directors.

The Board is the governing body of the CMLA and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization, its subsidiary governing bodies (committees and local chapters) and for the long-term strategic positioning of the organization.

If you are interested in running for a position as a board member, please email with a statement of intent of no more than 500 words.  All statements of intent must be submitted by email on or before June 8, 2014.

Please note that all nominees must be members of the CMLA and they must be called to the bar of a province in Canada.

At the AGM on June 24, 2014, each nominee will be asked to present their candidacy to the CMLA membership.

For those who missed our first announcement, the AGM will be held on June 24, 2014 at Torys LLP in downtown Toronto, starting at 6:00 p.m.  Food will be served.
