CMLA members enjoy a number of benefits, including: access to CMLA events at discounted rates; access to CMLA programming, including the mentor/mentee program and the NCA advisory program; ability to participate in CMLA committees and the advocacy work of CMLA; access to networking and referrals across Canada; and the opportunity to participate in and benefit from CMLA’s community outreach seminars. Your membership also supports the CMLA’s ongoing legal advocacy work to uphold our fundamental Canadian values, and the CMLA’s community outreach activities that are of particular benefit to Canadian Muslims.
A lawyer member must be called to the bar in a province or territory of Canada (and not be disbarred). Membership for lawyers in their first two years of call costs $25.00 per calendar year (January to December). Membership for lawyers beyond their first two years of call costs $50.00 per calendar year.
Articling students, law students at any Canadian law school and current NCA students are invited to subscribe for membership under this category. Membership costs $10.00 per calendar year (January to December).
Any individuals who do not qualify for a membership are invited to become a CMLA Supporter, at $40 per calendar year (January to December). This would include paralegals, Canadians who are members of a bar outside of Canada and individuals who are not lawyers but who wish to be a CMLA Supporter for business development, to support the CMLA’s work, or for other reasons.
