About the event

Join moderator, Sania Chaudhry of the Real Estate Council of Alberta, and panelists Ambreen Azim of KH Dunkley and Faraz Bawa of Stewart Sharma Harsanyi, in an informative and educational virtual webinar about family law.

Sania Chaudhry is a full-time practicing lawyer in Calgary and is also a current part-time student at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law in their Masters of Law program, with her research focusing on critical race theory and administrative law in the context of reasonable apprehension of bias. She previously practiced family law before entering an administrative prosecutor role. Among her many Board roles, Sania is Chair and Founder of the Alberta Chapter of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association. She was recognized in 2022 as a Top 30 Under 30 by the Alberta Council of Global Cooperation and as one of 2022’s Women Who Inspire by the Canadian Council of Muslim Women. Sania was also recently appointed in 2022 onto the Alberta Anti-Racism Advisory Council.

Ambreen Azim is a lawyer practising in Calgary who works with KH Dunkley Law Group as their family law and child welfare lawyer. She has more than 13 years of litigation experience, including family law, child welfare, personal injury, criminal, appeal litigation and immigration law. She is actively involved in several community service organizations and has a wealth of understanding, experience and knowledge working with diverse cultures and communities. She holds an L.L.B honours degree from the University of Southampton School of Law. Ambreen was also recently appointed in 2022 onto the Alberta Anti-Racism Advisory Council.

Faraz Bawa is a senior associate at Stewart Sharma Harsanyi, primarily practicing immigration and family law. Prior to being called to the Alberta Bar in 2014, he was a compensation analyst for the Wynford Group and a currency trader for Olympia Trust Company. Mr. Bawa received a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary. Faraz was recently appointed to the Alberta Human Rights Commission as a Tribunal Member.
